The Dock Actors Studio is a Liverpool based acting studio founded by working industry professionals. The studio focuses on practical, screen based actor training designed to reflect real industry standards and experiences.

The Dock welcomes actors of all experience levels — from complete beginners to experienced performers looking to sharpen their craft and build confidence on screen.

No. Beginners are welcome and classes are designed to support actors at every level of experience.

The Dock currently offers 12 Week Acting Courses, Weekly Acting Classes, Youth Acting Courses, screen acting workshops and showreel opportunities.

The training primarily focuses on screen acting techniques, helping actors develop truthful and natural performances suitable for television and film.

Classes are held at The Dock Actors Studio, 24 Arrad Street, Liverpool, L7 7BP in the heart of Liverpool city centre.

All classes are practical, in person sessions only.

Our 12 Week Course and Weekly Classes are for ages 18+. Our Youth Acting Course is for ages 12–17. Some programmes may have specific age requirements which will always be listed in the course details.

Never. We welcome people of all ages and backgrounds.

Yes. Many students report improved confidence, communication skills, creativity and teamwork throughout the training process.

Sessions are taught by working actors with credits across BBC, ITV, Netflix, theatre productions and major feature film projects, including Bobby Schofield, Paddy Rowan, Shaun Fagan, Mícheál Óg Lane, Sarah-Louise Chadwick and Hebron Tedros.

The Dock Studio focuses on real industry preparation, honest professional feedback, practical on-camera training and supportive small class sizes while learning from active industry professionals.

Typical class sizes range from 18–22 students, allowing actors to receive personal feedback and practical coaching.

Yes. Selected courses include professionally filmed showreel scenes and footage, including the 12 Week Course and Youth Course, to help actors build their Spotlight and casting profiles.

Yes. We teach audition technique alongside practical self-taping advice and on-camera performance skills.

Yes. Throughout the course we provide clear advice, tips and insight into how the television and film industry works.

We regularly host industry masterclasses as part of the 12 Week Course and casting directors have attended previous sessions.

No. You do not need headshots before joining. We give advice and guidance on headshots and casting materials throughout the course.

Our flagship acting course runs for 12 weeks. Weekly acting classes operate on an ongoing monthly basis.

After completing the course, students can continue training through our weekly classes at a discounted members rate. We also encourage actors to collaborate and build strong creative relationships within the The Dock community.

Yes. Flexible payment plans are available on selected courses.

Yes. Most classes are held midweek during the evenings.
